The capital of Slovakia is often called an international musical centre. Each Autumn Bratislava prepares a rich bunch of festivities, from the vintage holiday and its famous Day of Open Cellars to the Christmas feast. At this very time, the city also holds the largest and the most prestigious culture event in Slovakia, the international Bratislava Music Festival. Organised by  the Slovak Philharmonic, the 44th festival, between November 21 and December 5 of this year, will feature concert, opera and ballet performances of the world's greatest masters. The programme traditionally presents internationally acclaimed orchestras, soloists, choirs and ensembles from various countries.

The Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra and its director and chief conductor Vladimir Fedoseyev are among the dearest star guests. The orchestra, which has not played in Bratislava for a long time, will again perform in the Slovak Philharmonic Hall on November 24.
