Alexey Tikhomirov was born in 1979 in Kazan. Graduated from Kazan Musical College, Kazan State Conservatory named after N. G. Zhiganov (conducting and chorus faculties).

In 2001 he became a scholar of Fyodor Shalyapin Fund.

In 2005 he was accepted to Helikon-Opera troupe.

In 2006 Alexey Tikhomirov graduated from Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Centre, where he performed leading parts in such operas like “The Tsar’s Bride” by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (as Sobakin), “Rigoletto” by G. Verdi (as Count Monterone), “Faust” by Ch. Gounod (as Mephistopheles), “Iolanta” by P. I. Tchaikovski (as King Rene), “Ruslan and Ludmila” by M. I. Glinka (as Ruslan), “Vampuka” by V. Erenberg (as Strafokamil). Also works in “Helikon-Opera”.
In 2006 he became a laureate of the Ist Prize of The Ist International Contest of Opera Artists of Galina Vishnevskaya.

In 2007 at the First Republican contest, organised by the Ministry of culture of Republic of Tatarstan and Shalyapin Palace Hotel, he received a grant and a title of "The best young bass of Republic of Tatarstan".
