A year of 2008 is announced by the Russian President as a year of family. Artistic director and Chief conductor of the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Vladimir Fedoseyev, the member of executive council of art and culture under the President of the Russian Federation together with the Moscow government, under the private patronage of the first Mayor Deputy L. Shvecova, realize the social project: “Maestro invites… Open rehearsals of Vladimir Fedoseyev for children”.

On 17 May, 2008 in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory took place the first open rehearsal at which children from general schools and children’s homes of Moscow and Moscow region are invited. Previously within the framework of the project the orchestra’s musicians will perform in 11 children’s home of Moscow region.
For most children an introduce with a symphonic music will happen for the first time. Vladimir Fedoseyev will conduct this rehearsal, he will tell children about music and about the orchestra.

The program of the rehearsal included Unfinished symphony of the Austrian composer Franz Schubert (1797-1828).
After the rehearsal the orchestra’s musicians met children in the foyer of the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory.

Next open rehearsal will take place on 4 October, 2008 in the day of an opening of the concert season of the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. The concert program will consist of music of the Russian composers Mussorgsky and Borodin

The project is supported by the company PricewaterhouseCoopers Russia B.V. 
The company’s volunteers are preparing presents and surprises for children participated in the project. Vladimir Fedoseyev works for the same project with the Philharmonic Orchestra “Radio France” in Paris. Approximately 3000 children form general Paris schools participate in the dressing rehearsals. Beforehand children prepare for perception of the music, which will sound in the rehearsal, during the special lessons in their schools. Before the rehearsals children are addressed by presenter or by conductor himself. Children not only listen to music with interest but also speak to conductor and musicians.
Vladimir Fedoseyev supposes that such children cultural programs are very important. They open an emotional world of a child, waken creative activity, and form artistic thought.
